Most Common Question #1:
My compass is missing fluid all of a sudden, but there isn't a crack or puddle of fluid. What's wrong?
Answer:
You've got small cracks in your dome. The specialized fluid inside the dome is evaporating. You need a basic rebuild.
Most Common Question #2:
I can't see any cracks in the dome. Can't I just unscrew the compass and put more fluid in it?
Answer:
You could...but the fluid would evaporate just as it did before, and you risk causing significant damage to your compass. It is important that a qualified repair technician service your compass in order to prevent further damage.
Most Common Question #3:
I have a problem with (insert part). Can you send me a new (insert part) and I will install it myself?
Answer:
No. With the exception of lights that go on the outside of your compass, all repairs should be handled by a qualified technician. (See answer #2)
